Abstract

Tire marks produced by accident- involved vehicles are often the only source of information on which to base an analysis of vehicle and driver behavior prior to, during and after impact. When the accident took place years ago, only photographs may remain from which to get such information. This paper discusses the method by which a mathematical transformation is used to obtain a plan view marking map from the normal perspective photograph.
