Abstract

This paper outlines the basic theory and the techniques upon which the air conditioning analytical simulation package was developed. Methods for simulating car air conditioning components, system and cool-down performance by computerised mathematical models are presented. Solution techniques for the models of the evaporator, condenser, compressor, and vehicle are outlined, after which the correlation of test data and analytical predictions is demonstrated.
