Abstract

The model presented in this paper deals with the individual driver and his interactions with the environment and other vehicles. It attempts to simulate the driver's perceptual, decision making, and response processes as he approaches passes through, and leaves an intersection. A comparison is made between the model's output and field data and it is concluded that, at a very gross level, the model accurately predicts driver behaviour.
