Abstract

A computer simulation model for evaluating priority operations on freeways is described. Several types of reserved-lane configurations for differing types of traffic mixes, e.g. buses and car pools, can be considered. Based on the experience with the model, a number of ways to add further realism and operational ease to it, are suggested.
