Abstract
The development of the computerised Greater London Council Accident Statistics System and the choice of a location referencing system are described. The output is in the form of accident summaries and quarterly and annual tabulations. The second part discusses the use of the information in different types of studies in the context of accident prevention. The costs of accidents are also discussed.
