Abstract
Tests of individual tires, on a special concerning trailer show that studded tires, even when worn, have materially larger concerning capacity than do new tires without studs. When mounted on an automobile, however, this increased effectiveness is not realized if the studded tires are placed on all four wheels the concerning capacity of the vehicle, as measured by developed lateral coefficient of friction, may be increased by 50 to 60 per cent.
