Abstract

Noise walls will continue to be a necessary adjunct to the transportation scene as urban densities increase and residential and business installations must coexist with noise-generating transportation facilities. In order to be acceptable these noise walls must be aesthetic, economic, strong and durable to withstand weather and wind loads. Concrete in its various forms has proven to be well suited to furnish the variety and flexibility needed in the design of these diverse structures.
