Abstract

This document contains the proceedings of the conference on `Research and development needed to improve the safety and mobility of older drivers', held August 23 and 24, 1989. A key objective of the conference was to identify the research required to minimize older driver risk while maximizing older driver mobility. Specifically, conference participants presented and reviewed the latest research findings in functional areas related to driving abilities. They also identified researchable issues that apply specifically to the needs of the older driver. (A)
