At the conference "Road Safety Europe" held in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany, September 21-23, 1998, one of the themes was "Road safety data-needs, organization, collection and processing". Six of the papers presented within this framework were: Investigationof the uncertainty in reading record sheets (Dagnaes, L.); Analysis of accidents of vehicles leaving the road (Machau, C.); New developments and future of IRTAD (Berns, S.); Analysis of critical points in the street network - do we have to wait for accidents to happen? (Krasnianski, J.); The method of the road safety estimation on the city road network (Szczuraszek, T., Kempa, J., Bebyn, G. and Chmielewski, J.); Managing and evaluating accident-type maps (Maier, R. and Meewes, V.).
