Abstract

At the conference "Road Safety Europe" held in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany, September 21-23, 1998, one of the themes was "Cost/benefit of road safety measures". Three of the papers presented within this framework were: Economic costs and benefits of countermeasures against roadside accidents (Hülsen, H. and Meewes, V.); Assessment of cost-effectiveness of measures aimed at improving traffic safety in Russia (Simanovski, A. and Plotnikova, V.); Evaluation of low cost safety improvements at signalized intersections (Datta, T.K.).
