Abstract

This synthesis examines configuration management, a process developed to control change in complex information technology-based systems, from the perspective of transportation management systems by exploring the condamental concepts of configuration management, analyzing the key functions of transportation management as they relate to configuration management, presenting the results of a survey of transportation officials and describing a case study of the configuration management process used by the Georgia Department of Transportation.
