Abstract

This article describes that in front-engine, rear-drive cars, weight distribution has gradually changed to front-end preponderance even through the road gradients and coefficients of friction of snow and ice need 60 percent of the weight on the driving wheels. Experiments to determine real and apparent causes of stability and instability are discussed.
