Abstract

After a explanation of the efficiency and the reliability of the conflict observation technique a comparative literature review is presented of the internationally developed techniques. On the basis of this comparison a technique is chosen and applied on a junction in the city of Delft. It is shown that the lack of traffic safety is mainly caused by too high driving speeds, together with the big width of the street and the swanky behaviour of pupils from the nearby technical secondary school.
