Abstract

In about 80% of all cycle and moped accidents the other party in the conflict is a motor vehicle. It is therefore obvious that ways are being sought to protect these two-wheelers. If separation in space is impossible or too expensive one may concentrate on separation in time by giving cyclists and moped riders their own, conflict-free phase at traffic lights. This article gives a review of the available literature.
