Abstract

This publication consists of 14 papers that explore construction road user costs in rural areas, value of tablet computers in transportation construction inspection, benefits of three- and four-dimensional computer-aided design models, comparison of public–private partnerships and traditional procurement methods, construction manager–general contractor delivered projects, and volumetric and mechanistic test variability on predicted performance of asphalt pavement. This issue of the TRR also examines non-normality in quality assurance and acceptance quality characteristics data, non-destructive tests of thickness measurements for concrete pavement, the performance of plant-produced reclaimed asphalt pavement mixtures, intelligent compaction technology, asphalt mixture beams, compaction of asphalt pavements, high-speed rail steel bridges, and stability of curved steel i-girder bridges during construction.
