Abstract

The consultant multi-disciplinary team approach is advocated. Solutions to problems that confront planning consultants are explored. The need for an experienced leader, information dissemination in order to maintain public support, a parallel interdisciplinary review team with political leadership, the social problems of displacing people and businesses, the long-range social impact of design features, and some financial and technical problems that arise in planning for social amenities are discussed.
