Abstract

For various reasons it is necessary to consider freight traffic more explicitly in current transportation planning. Rapidly increasing congestion on the Dutch motorway network may affect the accessibility of main economic centres, like the Port of Rotterdam, negatively. This paper presents the main results of a study into truck trips to the container terminals in this port.
