Abstract

About 1000 candidates for the driving licence were interviewed about the driving exam, the driver training, problems about traffic safety and other relevant questions. From the candidates 50% had work, 40% was still at school or studying, 10% were housewives or had no work. The driver training took about eleven months. Women had 36% more driving lessons than men. A driving lesson has an average price of f 42. 50 per hour in 1987.
