Abstract

A study is made to determine whether continuous freeway lighting is effective in reducing night-time accident occurrence. An illuminated and anon-illuminated freeway were compared. Although some evidence was found to the contrary, the preponderance of the evidence indicates that continuous illumination is not reducing night-time accidents.
