Abstract

In Britain the precise number and relative proportions of deaths among passengers drivers, and pedestrians in road traffic accidents related to alcohol are not known. Data of road traffic accidents and deaths in Tayside during 1982- 1986 are used here. The high bac's which may point out to alcoholism suggest that publicity campaigns will be of little value in reducing the number of deaths in road traffic accidents related to alcohol.
