Abstract

At the State Art Institute of Urbine an exposition has been organized of traffic signals and graphic art solutions to solve the problem of road training. The items of visual information and communication offer new symbols in relation to traffic signaling systems and to indicate buildings of cultural interest and all kinds of public services. Unification of these items will be necessary. The colour of the road background base, dimension, and type of character of the lettering have to be taken into account in relation to the speed of the vehicles, and to the legibility. When streets are illuminated colour must be very strictly applied to make the massage easier to see. It would be possible to employ flashing panels. Graphic art applied to signaling devices, and audio-visual instrumentation will be of great importance in 2000.
