Abstract

The auto industry is being over-regulated and harmed economically by federal regulation. Federal regulations impede growth, stifle innovation and hamper the industry's ability to compete internationally. This report covers only those standards promulgated by NHTSA- Safety, damageability and fuel economy. It does not cover other federal regulations on vehicle emissions or noise abatement.
