Abstract

A description is given of a control system for adherence to the time-table of buses in suburban lines, feeder lines and city lines with the help of radio communication and computer evaluation in Hamburg. This system, which employs radio transmitters in buses and along the trajects, and a central receiving post, automatically registers on tape details about position, distance covered and direction of the bus, expressed in real-time. Advantages are: savings on control personnel, quicker action in case of accidents or special situations and a more regular service.
