Abstract

In this paper we are concerned with simulating accidents by subjecting cars to controlled impacts. Experiments in which cars are crashed head-on into a massive fixed barrier have been carried out by the Road Research Laboratory during the past few years. About twenty cars, most of them current models have been treated in this way.
