Abstract

Studies were made about the aerodynamic disturbance inputs for the purpose of ascertaining the influence of body shape on vehicle behaviour while running in the wind. A testing equipment to measure aerodynamic yawing moment and side force was developed with a full scale body mounted thereon. The inputs were measured under various running conditions. The wind vector was measured at the same time. Estimated inputs obtained by this method were similar to inputs measured while running in front of the side wind blower and running in natural wind.
