The Coroner's system in Ontario, Canada: an investigation and inquest in automotive medicine

Abstract

In Ontario, the Coroner holds sweeping powers of investigation and is in a unique position to study and publicize safety hazards. He has access to all information relating to sudden or unusual deaths, and he is able to bring out his findings by public inquiry or inquest. This article is a brief review of this coroners system and its application to automotive medicine.
