Abstract

Major elements of a successful corrective program for improving skid resistance are 1) a responsible attitude toward providing skid- resistance roads; 2) a knowledge of the level of friction needed; 3) a reliable friction-measuring method, and 4) technical knowledge of the materials and methods used in providing corrective action.
