Abstract

10763 accident casualties were analysed for distribution and prognosticated severity of lesions according to age and accident situation. Head injuries dominated in children car riders compared with adults. Leg injuries dominated with unprotected road users were hit by cars. Lethality was 4 times greater in the age group above 65 years. The number of head lesions was clearly reduced in users of seat belts.
