Abstract

The overall objective of the project was to improve traffic safety and flow conditions on major, high-speed roads through the promotion of electronic traffic aids for detection of road conditions and communication with the drivers. The project specifically aimed at the development of functional specifications and standards for the interface between the driver and the system that would ensure compatibility across the national borders.
