Abstract

This report is the final report on a Federal Highway Administration project: Testing of Improved Evaluation Techniques using a Representative Set of Accident Countermeasures". The report describes improved and updated highway accident costs and statistics developed from traffic accident and roadway data from 5 American States, procedures for including other highway user costs in costeffectiveness evaluations of highway accident counter- measures, and improved cost-effectiveness methodology for highway safety.
