Abstract

This paper presents a synthesis of the cost implications and associated lessons learned resulting from a two-year long cost analysis and cost data collection study conducted at three of the metropolitan model deployment initiative (MMDI) sites: San Antonio, Seattle and Phoenix (USA). A specific methodology is outlined to support the collection of consistent and useful cost data for ITS deployments. Cost data are given for a number of activities including the provision of traveller information web sites, traveller information kiosks, and arterial traffic management systems. Costs of projects not involving customised design would be lower. For the covering abstract see ITRD E114174.
