Abstract

Some of the effects of a total ban on deliveries and collection with goods vehicles of 3 ton onladen weight in town centres have been assessed, assuming that operators would use existing depots, maintain level of service, and change to vehicles just under 3 ton unladed weight. Data were obtained and a computer program was developed to revise the operations of the fleets of 48 companies.
