Abstract

Headforms used in tests of motorcycle helmets for compliance with FMVSS 218 are now available only in medium size, but prototype small and large sizes have been developed and use of all three sizes in testing is anticipated for 1982. A cost/benefit analysis was conducted of the effects on the consumer and the helmet industry.
