Abstract

This ground-breaking book identifies and describes the huge measurable direct and indirect costs, to society and to the people damaged, of the thousands of spinal cord injuries produced annually in motor vehicle crashes. Recognition of the sizes of these costs should be an important consideration in reaching the decisions that would help reduce the severity and frequency of such injuries and, thereby, the human and economic waste they generate.
