Abstract

An attempt is made to define the crash environment for recent model cars in terms of specific accident circumstances such as object struck, area of impact, direction of force, etc. For each accident situation, details for a number of specific impact types and resultant injuries are provided. Detail include comparison of single car and two car accidents, as well as comparisons of severe injury accidents with all accidents in the study population from which they are drawn.
