Abstract

Injuries to occupants in a fatal bus crash at Mt Tamborine, Queensland on September 25, 1990 have been studied. A comprehensive interior inspection of the tourist coach involved in took place. An analysis of injury mechanisms was given with emphasis on: (1) passenger injuries with respect to body region injured and seating position; (2) potential effectiveness of occupant restraint systems and other occupant protection measures; and (3) the performance of seat frames and anchorages during the impact.
