Abstract

A man-computer interactive system that was developed and applied to a series of experiments designed to identify the characteristics of high-performance bus rapid transit systems for CBD-bound passengers who reside in a suburban corridor, is described. The solution spaces of each of 12 problem cases, derived from the combination of several trip densities, highway network characteristics, and trip-making behaviours are explored in an interactive graphics search process.
