Abstract

The authors undertook an extensive laboratory study of diagrammatic guide signs. The study shows that better driving performance at certain types of interchanges is permitted by diagrammatic signs than by conventional signs. Emphasis was placed on deriving guides for sign design. (See PB 2110 for full version of the report).
