Abstract

The use of an external criterium for validating additive utility assessments under certainty, is investigated. Utilities were clicited from 24 groups via consensus judgement for 10 hypothetical applicants for bank credit cards. The research design completely crossed two factors relevant to group utility assessment: (1) using a decomposition procedure or not, and (2) using a formal communication strategy or not.
