Abstract

This paper concerns the validation of the ART 2020 driver behaviour tests as applied in an international setting. The tests had to be specially translated and adapted from their Austrian origin to be used in Turkish culture. Data were collected and different validation procedures were carried out. Comparison between tests carried out in Austria and Turkey showed no major differences in mean values or standard deviations. Examples of good and bad Turkish drivers were compared and subjects with better overall performance were confirmed as gaining better test results. Further comparison of drivers with no accidents or three or more accidents were analysed by age and education and these results again found significant differences.
