Abstract

This report which is prepared for the Office of Science and Technology attempts to outline the known and anticipated effects of the RECAT-regulations. The committee has considered existing laws and regulations which will affect automotive transportation in the U.S.A. in connection emission control, safety, highway design, and noise reduction. In addition a review was made of the existing literature.
