Abstract

CARE is a road accidents data base with disaggregate data created by the European Commission. This new data base, the only one with disaggregate data at EU level, is expected to increase the potential for road accident analysis in both national and international level. The final objective of the current research project is to examine the present and future potential of CARE. More precisely, the potential of CARE is examined in the framework of its transformation from a simpe data base of the present to an open and powerful information system in the future.
