Abstract

Drug abuse is a major problem, and any decision about drug testing requires careful consideration of available options. An outside laboratory offers the convenience of technical expertise. An in-house screening program provides an extra measure of control in the quality, confidentiality of test results and strength in the chain-of-custody. No matter which option is selected, planning will help maximize the benefits of drug testing and minimize the legal liabilities.
