Abstract

The key objective of WP 200 is to: Collect and collate information about how roadworthiness enforcement is currently performed in EU member states and in key countries outside the EU. For this purpose the work package 200 is split up into the following parts. 210 Literature review 220 Design of questionnaires 230 Data collection 240 Design of Database 245 Definition of guidelines for database analysis 250 Database analysis 260 Overview of other stakeholders 270 Overview of worldwide experience 280 General Situation in the EU members. WP 210 is supposed to show the current situation and trends in roadworthiness enforcement by simply collecting information on predefined topics. Together with the questionnaires from WP 240 a comprehensive database will be created. This one will serve further work packages as a knowledge base. As the user will notice, some subchapters have almost no links to documents concerning information on the specific topic. This is mainly due to the lack of research done yet, for example in the topics of accident rates in relation to vehicle defects, accident rates in relation to the vehicle’s age or cost effectiveness of the PMVI. Surveys and studies need to be performed in the future, in order to fill these gaps.
