In this paper, the timetable information system EVA (electronic timetable and travel information service) of Deutsche Bahn AG is introduced. The subjects of particular interest are the current developments in the field of customer information and the special problems arising from these. It is suggested that extensive utilisation of electronic media for the benefit of customers not only enhances transparency, but also establishes the basis for fulfilling the increased need for mobility. Finally, the possibilities for and advantages of cooperation in the field of traveller information are examined and future developments considered.
