Abstract

This illustrated article describes the layout and design of the modern vehicle dashboards from the ergonomic and safety point of view. New developments of head-up displays, following distance indicators, peripheral vision speedometers, and periscopic mirrors are reviewed. Finally, the use of integrated circuits to replace the conventional wiring is discussed.
