Abstract

This report covers a nationwide observational survey of cyclists, conducted in the autumn of 1996, to assess changes in bicycle helmet wearing rates since 1994. It also looks at differences in wearing rates according to the age and sex of the rider and type of bicycle ridden. The effects of the weather, cycling in a group and Local Authority helmet promotion initiatives are also examined for effects on helmet wearing. (A)
