Abstract

The area of safety in the sport of amateur competitive cycling is a serious issue of concern to the Australian Amateur Cycling Federation (AACF) . The biggest danger for cyclists is to be training on the road. The AACF will continue to support any provision of an exemption from the compulsory wearing of hard helmets for riders in organised road races. The AACF will applaud the introduction of any measures aimed at improving the safety standards of cycling in general.
