Abstract

Creating safe possibilities for cyclists in order to cycle from city to city or from village to village, can and must be a joint effort of local authorities, experts, residents and users of the route in question. Measures taken for cycle- routes outside built- up areas make the routes in question safer, more agreeable and more comfortable to the cyclists. Such measures also promote the use of the bicycle especially for recreational purposes.
