Abstract

Bicyclist visibility is considered in relation to conspicuity in the daytime and visibility at night- a distinction needed because of the different conditions and visual processes involved at these two times. Recommendations are made for minimum reflectivity of ordinary clothing and special safety wear for cyclists and for the performance of retroreflectors and lights for cycle equipment.
